Our Organization

The Weld County Bears Pop Warner Football Program (previously known as the Greeley Bears) has been providing a COMPETITIVE, FUN, and most important SAFE football experience to children ages 5 to 14 in our area since the Fall of 2014.

We are an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  We draw many youth, regardless of financial situation, because of the quality of our program and the overall athletic experience we promote.

Pop Warner offers eleven different divisions to choose from, from the smallest of players at 5 years old; to middle school athletes at 14 years old. For the 2024 season, we will offer five different divisions. Our teams depend on the quantity of players that sign up at each division.

This is not the normal Recreational football team or city team. This is a competitive football environment. Our goals are State Championships, Regional Championships, and National Championships.

The Weld County Bears are proud members of the Rocky Mountain Pop Warner Football League and the Southwestern Pop Warner Football Conference.

Our program strives to provide fundamental instruction in the game of football to the many that play this great game. This is accomplished through an emphasis on accountability, sportsmanship, team play, self-discipline, maximum effort, integrity and respect. We believe football is a great way to promote on and off field responsibility, good attitude and scholastic greatness.

We enforce a minimum play requirement. (8-12 Plays per game)

With that being said, there are some stipulations.

Each of the following items can/will affect your child's playing time:

  • Less than upstanding behavior ON and OFF the football field

  • Not maintaining a "C" (75%) average in school.

  • Lack of effort on the field, in school at home

  • Unexcused absences (understanding our athletes cannot get themselves to practice)

  • Parent OR Player disrespect/violence to a staff member of the Weld County Bears.

  • PLAYER SAFETY

Year after year, the success of our program is driven by the high level of commitment and support provided by our board members, coaches, players, parents, volunteers and the rest of the community.

2024 is going to be the BEST Bears season yet!

GO BEARS!!!

"Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile."
